Introduction

The BMW Z3 series belongs to the Roadster class with two body styles, a 2 door convertible and a 2 door Coupe. Both use the FR E 36 platform. The BMW Z3 series also relates to BMW E 36 and 3-Series. It is similar in features and/or shape with the Audi TT and Mercedes Benz SLK. The BMW Z3 coupe was one of the Z3 series cars which was first manufactured in the year 1999 in Spartanburg, South Carolina US. This was the first BMW car that was manufactures as well as assembled in the United States. The production of the Coupe ended in 2002 when it was replaced by the BMW Z4 at Paris Motor Show.

Interior

The car is designed to have comfortable interiors. Many additional features apart from the more standard features are added to the interiors of the car. These features allow you to experience a sound and comfortable journey in the car. The interior features of the car include air conditioning, audio anti theft system, roof antenna, light in cargo area, audio system with AM and FM feature, a cargo area capacity of 225 liters with all seats intact. A clock, cigar lighter, storage box, delayed and faded courtesy lights, cruise control, cup holders, front door pocket bins (both driver and the passenger seat), external temperature measurement device, fully carpeted load area, floor mats, front air bags with the feature of occupant sensors (both driver and the passenger seat), a sports seat, height adjustable three reel front seat belts, glove compartment with lock option, front seats head restraints, power locks system, power steering, low fuel level warning, one touch power windows, reading lights in the front, rear view mirror, leather seats, service level indicator, side airbags (at front), nine speaker sound system, leather coated steering wheel, tachometer, ventilation system with recirculation mechanism and micro filter. The car comes with internal dimensions of, a front head room space of 932 mm and the front hip room area of 1374 mm. similarly the front leg room space is about 1062 mm while the front shoulder room is about 1311 mm. the cargo space in the car in about 255 liters.

Exterior

BMW Z3 has a very attractive external look that easily attracts people to look at it. The car is meant for two and hence comes as a two seated car. It has two doors and comes in different body colors. Certain features have been added to enhance the external look of the car. Some of these include body color bumpers (both front and rear), body color door mirrors (both driver and the passenger), fog lights (front), halogen bulb headlights, heat reflective glass, gloss paint, rear window, cabin with tinted glass and automatic windshield wipers. These features make the car look attractive. The external dimensions of the car include a total length of 4026 mm, a total width of 1740 mm and a total height of 1306 mm. The wheelbase comes with a length of 2446 mm while the front track is about 1412 mm and the rear track is about 1494 mm whereas the curb to curb turning circle is 9997 mm. It has a coefficient of drag of 0.37 while the curb weight is about 1335 kg.

Engine

The 2000 BMW Z3 Coupe comes with an engine capacity of 3.0 L and a displacement of 2979 cc. The engine is located in the front and has a bore of 84 mm and a stroke of 89.6 mm. the compression ratio is 10.2 while the engine comes with a double overhead cam and four valves per cylinder. The car uses premium unleaded fuel in its engine has a multi point injection fuel system with a fuel tank having a maximum capacity of 51 liters of fuel in it. It consumes 8.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers on the highway. The engine comes with strength of 225 hp (168 kW) at the rate of 5900 rpm and can produce a maximum torque of 290 Nm (214 ft lb) at the rate of 3500 rpm.
