History

The Mini was first designed in 1959 by the British Motor Company and around twenty thousand cars were produced in the first year of its production. This amount was increased exponentially in the next few years and the production increased to two hundred thousand cars in 1962. This was a great achievement by the company and it continued to produce the same number of cars for the next fifteen years. The Mini became part of the Rover group in 1991 and the group was then acquired by BMW in the year 1994. BMW took a long time before it finally produced its version of the Mini Cooper in the year 2001.

Introduction

The Mini is a small family car made for four passengers. It is a two door car with two versions coupe and the convertible one. The car is the advanced version of the original Mini. The manufacturing plant of the Mini is located in Cowley, Oxford, UK. It belongs to the Super mini Hot hatch class and is available in two body styles, that is, a 3 door hatchback and a t2 door convertible.

The second engine comes with the specifications of 1.6 L having engine strength of 168 hp at the rate of 6000 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 162 lb ft at 4000 rpm. The engine has 16 valves in total with OHC configuration. The engine comes with a displacement of 1598 cc having a bore of 3.03 inches and a stroke of 3.38 inches while having a compression ratio of 8.33 to 1. The car uses MPFI fuel system in its engine. The next engine comes as a 1.6 L with engine strength of 207 hp at the rate of 6950 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 180 lb ft at the rate of 4000 rpm. Like the earlier engines, this one also has 16 valves OHC configuration. The engine has a displacement of 1598 cc having a bore of 3.03 inches and a stroke of 3.38 inches while having a compression ratio of 8.3 to 1. the final one in the line comes with a configuration of 1.6 L and has a strength of 214 hp at the rate of 7100 rpm while producing a maximum torque of 184 lb ft at the rate of 4600 rpm. The engine comes with 16 numbers of valves with OHC configuration. The engine displacement value is 1598 cc with a bore of 3.03 inches and a stroke of 3.38 inches while having a compression ratio of 8.3 to 1. All the engines have the fuel capacity of 13.2 US gallons.

Interior

The interior of Mini is designed in such a way that maximum space is utilized. Many features are added in the car that make your journey a safe and comfortable one. The car comes with 4 standard seats and has a front head room of 38.80 inches while the rear head room is about 38.10 inches. The front legroom is about 41.3 inches while the rear legroom is 31.3 inches. The front shoulder room is 50.9 inches whereas the rear shoulder room is 44.7 inches. Similarly the front hip room is about 38 inches while the rear hip room is 39 inches. Other internal features of the car include tilt steering, tachometer, cruise control, heated steering wheel with leather coating, tyre pressure monitor, radio, CD player with CD changer, navigational aid, front heated seats, leather seats, folding seats in the second row, cargo area cover, cargo net and power sunroof.
